VP, Strategic Insights
Jason Wiese serves as Vice President, Strategic Insights for the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau (CAB). Wiese joined the CAB in April 2013 and his multi-faceted media career has spanned both the agency and network sides within New York City where he’s worked on media strategy, plan development and consumer insights for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. Wiese is a member of the Strategic Insights Group whose primarily function is to uncover and develop insights that can be used in the creation of original, client-facing communications that advocates for more cable.

Prior to the CAB, Wiese most recently served as a VP, Group Media Director at UM. There he managed the Brown-Forman account across all media and had direct oversight of media strategy development and plan implementation for 16 distilled spirits brands including Jack Daniel’s and Southern Comfort.

Before UM, Wiese was a Market Resources Manager within the Ad Sales Research group at Discovery Networks in New York where he created strategic media pitches for new business and existing advertisers. He also aided in the development of forecasting, trend analyses and consumer research presentations across the network portfolio including Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet and Discovery Science.

Along with his time at Discovery Networks, Wiese has vast agency experience including time at Mindshare and a first stint at Universal McCann right out of college where he rose to the title of media supervisor while working on a mix of local and national advertisers with a range of budgets between $1MM – $250 million. His account list included well-known brands such as Lowe’s Home Improvement, Kohl’s Department Stores, Sony Electronics, ExxonMobil, Avis / Budget Rent-A-Car and Labatt Beer.

Wiese was a recipient of McCann Erickson’s Truth Well Told Award and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a Motion Pictures and Political Science double major from the University of Miami. His first position in television was as a production management intern at WAMI-TV on Miami Beach. Jason resides in Manhattan.
